    .Snapshot Pre-Release [0.1.3.609 Alpha] For give a bit of life in the website, i'll even post news when i release a snapshot. So a new weekly snapshot (the third one) is released with following new additions since the 0.1.3.607:

    - [completed] focused star data display on 3d view w/ basic star's data
    - [completed] focused space unit data display on 3d view w/ basic space unit's data.

    .A new iteration of Far Autonomous Remote Colony is created. I dropped this project since october 2008 due to bad project/code management and because i had non realistic goals, at least for an alpha. So, since August 2009 the last and final iteration of FARC is recoded with a goal, to make a limited but playable prototype. Phase 1, initialization, basic 3d and interface, of this one is now completed , now i working on prototype final phase. It will be used as a sort of framework for all other game elements.
    .What changed since previous version ? I dropped turn by turn to make an hybrid realtime, by addition of one Game Flow thread and multiple Task Process threads. I made also a unique game design document for a better access, which is completely rewritten with internal links.
    .I decided to not make a release until version 0.1.2 with the full prototype.

FAR Colony (for Far Autonomous Remote Colony) is a game of space exploration and management.

Without to reinvent the wheel it combine elements like a multilevel and semi-automated management system, strategy in 3 ways (social / economical and military), exploration and research & development.

The game will have 2 phases: the first one will be to establish a colony on an indicated planet and to make it survive on mid/long term. In the second one you'll have more or less choices for drive your colony's fate depending of your succes in the first phase and the faction you choose at the start of the game.

This game is opensource and distributed freely, it's available on Windows only since the Linux/Lazarus port is on hold for now.

The dev tools are Delphi 2009 with some TMS components, GLScene for 3d framework, Vampyre Imaging Library, GR32 and Dave's Lib3ds.

The other tools used are Maya and Notepad++.

The game design documents are all made on OpenOffice.

The Windows development platform is an Athlon X2 3800+ w/ 2Gb and a 7900GTX.
